Look, I can understand why someone might not want to give out their email address to download something that they don't even know if it's worth downloading.

Yes, some webmasters will give or sell your email address to others. Some may spam you relentlessly. I'm not going to do that. I hate getting spam as much as anyone, so I'm not going to spam you, and I won't share your email address with anyone. I shall defend the privacy of your email with my very life if necessary (OK, I might not die for your email address, but I'm not going to give it to anyone either)!

So why am I asking for your email address? Simple - I do want to keep in touch with you to let you know about any updates that become available. I will probably email you from time to time - usually no more than once per month (probably less because frankly I'm a little lazy about sending emails), maybe twice in a given month if there's a lot of new information to share.

If you don't want to receive any emails, simply let me know and I'll take you off of my list. It's that simple. And even if I didn't take you off my list, all you have to do is classify my emails as junk in your email server, and they'll either be blocked or go to your junk folder so you can delete them without even looking at them.
